As for songwriters, the Yamaha DGX-640C will prove to be your very best friend! Full accompaniment is onboard with 165 preset rhythms, all ready to please at the touch of a button. These accompaniment styles provide the equivalent of a full backing band covering a wide variety of styles. Everything from rock and r&b ballads to waltzes to 8-beat to euro-trance… and much more are all waiting to be heard. A simple button push selects a style that matches the music you want to play, or experiment with new styles to expand your musical horizons. Style controls include Intro, Main x 2, Fill-in and Ending, all accessible on the top panel with the push of a button. These are great inspirational starting points to get your creative juices flowing. You can record your new song using the built-in recording function. You can use 6 tracks (1 reserved for Chord) and store up to 5 songs, and. For you students of the piano, the onboard Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.) offers an advanced set of helpful learning tools that let you teach yourself how to play and perform. Y.E.S. helps you master a song with easy lesson steps. Each lesson can be done in isolation with either your left hand or right hand, or both.
When you play back a song, the corresponding score will be shown on the LCD display as the song plays. This is a great way to learn how to read music. If the song contains lyric and chord data, the lyrics and chords will also appear on the score display (no lyrics or chords will appear on the display if the song you are using with the score display function does not contain the appropriate lyric and chord data).
Let’s talk connections. Around the back there’s a contrast knob for the LCD screen, a 12V AC adaptor input (PA-150), a ¼” headphone jack (also can be used as a stereo line-out), sustain pedal input, and a USB to host terminal.
On the front top panel you’ll find a port that hosts a USB flash memory stick. You can store MIDI songs and easily select them from the front panel.
